About Coffman Learning Studio
Coffman Learning Studio was created to support students and families who want personalized, encouraging, and practical learning support. Every child learns differently, and my goal is to help students feel confident in their abilities while helping families feel supported in their educational journey.
I am an elementary educator with experience supporting students in kindergarten through sixth grade across traditional classrooms, virtual learning environments, small group instruction, tutoring, and homeschool education. Since 2008, I have worked with a wide range of learners and families, both locally and internationally.
Over the years, I have supported thousands of students through online platforms and private instruction, partnering with families across Florida and other states including Texas, Virginia, and California. My work focuses on individualized instruction that builds foundational skills, positive learning habits, and confidence.

For early literacy and reading development, I use an explicit, systematic approach grounded in structured literacy and the Science of Reading. I continue professional learning in Orton-Gillingham–informed practices to support struggling readers and students with Dyslexia or other reading challenges.
Above all, learning is not a race. Every child grows at their own pace, and progress is measured through growth, understanding, and confidence rather than comparison.
Credentials and Ongoing Learning
I hold a Florida Teaching License, with English as a Second Language and Reading Endorsement. Additionally, I engage in ongoing professional development in structured literacy and Science of Reading–aligned practices to support diverse learners and struggling readers.
Coffman Learning Studio is a Step Up For Students Provider in Florida, allowing eligible families to use approved scholarship funds toward qualifying services.
In addition to private instruction, I continue to work in local elementary classrooms as a substitute teacher. This ongoing classroom experience allows me to stay connected to current academic expectations and instructional practices, helping me better support both traditional and homeschool students while remaining grounded in the day-to-day realities families and educators face.
Global & Culturally Responsive Experience
I also have experience supporting students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. I taught in a Muslim private school, where I was welcomed into a community different from my own and gained valuable perspective on culturally responsive teaching.
I spent three years teaching students across Asia through virtual learning platforms and worked for a Czech-based education company for a year working with families across Europe.
These experiences have shaped my approach to teaching and strengthened my commitment to flexibility, respect, and meeting families where they are while supporting students in a global learning environment.
Through online platforms such as Outschool, I have worked with students from across the United States and around the world, supporting learners from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds. This global experience continues to shape my teaching and reinforces the importance of flexibility, respect, and individualized support.
Supporting Diverse Learners
I have experience working with students with a wide range of learning needs and exceptionalities, including gifted learners, students with ADHD, Dyslexia, Specific Learning Disabilities, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia, and students in inclusive autism learning environments.
My approach centers on meeting students where they are while creating structured, supportive learning experiences that honor individual strengths.
In addition to tutoring and instruction, I provide homeschool portfolio evaluations, instructional learning snapshots, and academic guidance for families. I have worked alongside homeschool families across multiple Florida counties, including Broward, Duval, Flagler, Miami-Dade, Orange, Palm Beach, Seminole, St. Johns, and others.
